National Puppy Day!

March 23, 2009 at 9:07 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , )

Today we celebrated “National Puppy Day”. We started out by going to the Michigan Humane Society just down the street from us & looking at all the puppies/dogs available for adoption. We also saw the cats & 2 rabbits, but that was just a bonus. There was even a cat named Addison! Samuel asked where his name was… :)

Then we came home & got to color a paper of a dog, cat, & bunny in Sam’s coloring book.

We watched an old video of Pound Puppies and Sam was interested in it for only a little bit.

We also looked up videos of funny puppies on YouTube.

We’re planning on making a “torn collage puppy” out of construction paper but right now we’re getting ready to head out the door. Just thought you’d like to know what’s going on today!

“I want you to be happy” Day

March 3, 2009 at 9:23 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , )

We’ve been inspired by another blogger to do themes & incorporate activities, and we’re trying to do daily themes this week. Yesterday was “Namesake” day & we painted our names, read a story about Samuel (in the Bible) and today it is “I want you to be happy” day. So this morning we made smiley face waffles (frozen kind) with chocolate syrup. Here’s a picture of Sam’s:

I also made a smiley face lunch for him:

And this is him trying to be his lunch:

We’re going to make smiley faces out of construction paper (he’ll love the gluing part) & read some books about being happy.

I’ll try to post more as we do the other days’ themes. Hope you enjoy the pics!
